Question: What Happened in 70 AD?

In 70 AD, the Roman army under the command of Titus destroyed the Herodian Temple and sacked Jerusalem. Josephus (AD 37 – c. 100), present during the siege and sacking of Jerusalem, writes that over 1,000,000 people died in Jerusalem and nearly 100,000 were captured and enslaved.

When I dabbled with Preterism, I was confused over several things:

  1. In Partial Preterism was this the Great Tribulation? Would there be no other tribulations in history that could match or surpass this tribulation? Do passages that describe trouble and persecution in Revelation only refer to the period around 70 AD?

  2. In Partial Preterism did Jesus return? The angels at Jesus' ascension seemed to indicate that there would be only one return of Christ? Was this it? Are there multiple returns?

  3. Where does the millennium fit in Partial Preterism? Is it from Christ's ascension to his coming in 70 AD? Is it after the fall of Jerusalem? If so, what is qualitatively different from the period from Christ's ascension to 70 AD, and after?

  4. In Partial Preterism how are we to interpret the resurrection of the body? Is it merely spiritual? Is there no physical body in the eternal kingdom?

Some of this was a confusion I had with Hyper or Full Preterists, and Partial Preterists. The view that I settled upon, although often referred to as Amillennialism, is really a form of Eclectisim. There are things I see that some Preterists get right, there are some things I see some Futurists get right. However, whenever I run into Preterists, I always wonder what precisely that person believes, in particular about the events surrounding 70 AD. Can anyone provide some information?
